thumb_up Pros
- + Melody Marks is phenomenal in close-up, her face-to-face intimacy is unmatched
- + Cowgirl with kissing is next-level immersion that should become standard
- + Passthrough integration is technically solid
thumb_down Cons
- − Male talent has a distracting beer belly that blocks the action in cowgirl angles
- − The belly issue is an obvious oversight in casting
- − Clarity has dropped compared to earlier passthrough scenes
- − Not the blow-you-away experience that earlier Melody scenes delivered
Melody Marks in passthrough should be automatic gold, she's one of the most beloved performers on SLR, with a previous scene ("Making it Up to You") that people still worship. And when she's in close-up, it delivers: her face-to-face intimacy and eye contact are genuinely special, and the cowgirl-with-kissing section is the kind of innovation that should become a standard position in every scene.
But there's a problem that's impossible to ignore, and it's a legitimate complaint. The male talent has a visible belly that blocks the action during cowgirl positions. In passthrough, where the whole point is seamless immersion, having someone's gut disappearing parts of the performer's body is an unforced error. This is immediately obvious, and suggestions range from casting slimmer talent to literally having the guy wear a corset under the grey suit. It's the kind of oversight that shouldn't happen on a Melody Marks shoot.
The overall clarity has also dipped compared to SLR's earlier passthrough work, which is noticeable and disappointing. Melody is still "the benchmark" as one commenter puts it, and her close-up moments rescue the scene from the technical issues. But this needed better planning in the casting and camera departments to match the talent they booked.
