Zombie Slayers
WankzVR proved VR porn could be ambitious, themed, and stacked with talent
The Award
"Zombie Slayers" won Best Virtual Reality Sex Scene at the 35th AVN Awards in January 2018. It was only the second year the AVN had recognized VR content, and WankzVR's win here established the studio as a dominant force in the emerging format.
The Scene
"Zombie Slayers" is a themed group scene that leans into horror-comedy territory, a creative direction that WankzVR would continue to mine in later productions. Rather than a straightforward scene, the studio built a narrative framework around the action, demonstrating that VR content could incorporate production design, costuming, and storytelling beyond what early adopters expected from the format. The four-performer cast added scale that most VR studios weren't yet attempting.
The Performers
Adriana Chechik was at the peak of her career in 2017, consistently winning awards and known for pushing boundaries in every format she worked in. Megan Rain and Arya Fae added depth to the cast, while Tommy Gunn, a veteran male performer, anchored the POV perspective. Chechik's involvement in particular signaled WankzVR's ability to attract top-tier talent for their VR productions.
The Studio
By 2018, WankzVR had already proven itself with the previous year's XBIZ win for "On Set With Riley Reid." "Zombie Slayers" showed the studio wasn't resting on that success. They were investing in bigger casts, themed productions, and higher production values. WankzVR operates as part of the WankzVR/MilfVR family of sites, consistently shooting in high resolution with an emphasis on mainstream-quality production. We don't currently cover WankzVR with full reviews.
Why It Matters
"Zombie Slayers" proved that VR porn could be more than a single-performer novelty. The themed production, multi-performer cast, and narrative framework showed the industry that VR was a canvas for creative ambition, not just a technical format. WankzVR winning back-to-back at XBIZ and AVN cemented their early dominance in the VR space.
