thumb_up Pros
- + Convincing gym setting and bench positioning
- + Sharp 8K detail in close-ups
- + Natural camera height throughout
- + Enthusiastic performer energy
thumb_down Cons
- − Audio echo ruins dialogue clarity
- − Harsh fluorescent lighting creates unflattering shadows
- − Rushed scenario setup
VR Bangers' gym setting works surprisingly well for VR; sitting on that bench feels natural and the equipment around you sells the after-hours atmosphere. Mia Trejsi brings genuine enthusiasm to her "desperate for training tips" character, though her Czech accent gets muddied by inconsistent audio levels that make dialogue hard to follow at times.
The 8K footage delivers solid sharpness on Quest 3, especially during close-up moments, but the gym's fluorescent lighting creates some harsh shadows that flatten the image. Camera positioning feels spot-on throughout, with no weird scale issues and Mia maintains believable eye contact even when moving between positions. The reverse cowgirl segment particularly benefits from the stable bench setup.
Audio is the weak link here. While spatial positioning works fine, there's noticeable echo from the gym's hard surfaces and Mia's voice gets compressed during louder moments. The premise of sneaking into a closed gym after hours is fun, but the execution feels rushed; more buildup would have sold the scenario better.
This hits the sweet spot for gym fantasy enthusiasts, with solid technical execution held back by subpar sound design. Worth it if you're specifically looking for fitness-themed content, but the audio issues keep it from being essential viewing.
